Celebrating Our Proud Partnership with EPUT in Advancing Virtual Wards and Home-Based Care

Recently, EPUT (Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) had the honour of hosting Health and Social Care Secretary Wes Streeting, NHS Chief Executive Amanda Pritchard, and Clare Panniker, NHS Regional Director for the East of England, at their Care Coordination Centre in Epping. During their visit, they had the opportunity to witness the remarkable work EPUT clinicians are doing to keep patients at home, rather than in hospital beds, thanks to the cutting-edge virtual ward technology provided by Doccla.

The visit highlighted the success of the West Essex Hospital at Home Service, a pioneering initiative that ensures patients receive hospital-equivalent care from the comfort of their homes. EPUT Chief Executive, Paul Scott, shared his pride in this collaboration, stating, "We were delighted to meet the new Health and Social Care Secretary and share with him our work with a range of partners in West Essex to deliver safe, hospital equivalent care at home."

At Doccla, we are incredibly proud to be a part of this innovative service. Since 2021, we have partnered with EPUT to support their mission of delivering personalised, patient-centred care that empowers patients to maintain their independence while receiving high-quality treatment. Through our comprehensive virtual ward solution, we’ve helped EPUT reduce emergency admissions, enhance patient compliance, and significantly alleviate pressure on local healthcare resources.

Doccla’s end-to-end service, which includes patient onboarding, device logistics, and compliance support, has been instrumental in the success of EPUT’s Hospital at Home Service. The recent visit by NHS leaders is a testament to the vital role that virtual wards play in the future of healthcare. It was especially thrilling to see Secretary Streeting and Amanda Pritchard onboarded as virtual ward patients themselves, experiencing first-hand the simplicity and effectiveness of our technology.

As we look to the future, we are excited to deepen our partnership with EPUT and continue to expand the capabilities of our virtual wards, ensuring more patients can receive safe, high-quality care at home. Together, we are not just adapting to the demands of modern healthcare but are setting new standards for what patient care can and should be.
