Doccla and NCA Mark a Major Milestone: 1000 Patients on the Virtual Ward

We are thrilled to announce a significant achievement in our partnership with Northern Care Alliance (NCA): the enrolment of the 1000th patient onto NCA’s Virtual Ward Service. This milestone highlights the success of our innovative virtual ward model, which has been instrumental in transforming patient care and alleviating pressure on traditional hospital settings.

Delivering Impactful Virtual Care

NCA’s Virtual Ward, powered by Doccla, provides a secure and effective alternative to hospital admission through remote monitoring and care in patients’ homes. This achievement is a testament to the shared commitment of Doccla and NCA to delivering high-quality, patient-centric care, improving patient outcomes, and easing pressure on healthcare resources.

Stacey Debio, Lead Nurse for Oldham Community Urgent Care, highlights the impact of Doccla’s introduction into the two-hour Urgent Community Response (UCR) service: “The introduction of Doccla has provided an additional safety net for patients, their families, and the care team. Our patients have the ability to record their vital signs in the comfort of their own homes, knowing that a clinician is closely monitoring them. This doesn’t replace a necessary visit but supports care delivery and helps keep patients at home. Here in Oldham, we have initiated close collaboration with the Hospital and Care at Home team to extend this support to the Oldham community, ensuring enhanced care pathways that reduce the need for hospital admissions and build confidence in patients to remain at home.”

A Comprehensive Service Across Multiple Pathways

The NCA utilises Doccla across 17 pathways and 12 services spread over four sites: Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, and Salford. These pathways include respiratory, frailty, infection, heart failure, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and more. The variety and reach of these pathways demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability of Doccla’s virtual ward model, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of different patient groups and medical conditions.

Supporting the Future of Healthcare

This milestone is not just about numbers; it represents improved patient experiences and more efficient use of healthcare resources. Our partnership with NCA continues to redefine care delivery, supporting patients with conditions ranging from chronic illnesses to post-operative recovery.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate reaching 1000 patients, we remain dedicated to expanding and refining our virtual ward services. Our goal is to continue supporting NCA and other healthcare partners in enhancing patient care, reducing admissions, and enabling more patients to receive safe and effective treatment from the comfort of their homes.

Here’s to the next 1000 patients and beyond!
